Meadow Lakes Holiday Park is a family-owned park spread over 56 acres of lush meadows, beautiful woodlands and stunning lakes. It is located just an 11-minute drive from St Austell, 24 minutes from Truro, 16 minutes from the south coast and under 40 minutes from the north coast of Cornwall. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind, then Meadow Lakes is the perfect location. It offers the countryside on your doorstep for you to enjoy the outdoors.
The park has plenty of activities to keep family members occupied. There is a heated outdoor pool open from late May until September. Next to the pool, the friendly cafe offers delicious food and refreshments with both indoor and outdoor seating. Children can enjoy the daily open Pets Corner where they can see and get involved in animal petting sessions. They can meet shetland ponies, donkeys, goats, guinea pigs and chickens.
The popular fishing lakes offer peace and tranquillity, with all 4 lakes offering well-stocked mixed course species. If you come in the spring, you may even get to see the geese with their goslings swimming and nesting on the lake. On site, there is an indoor playbarn with a pool table, air hockey, table football and darts. The Playframe offers climbing and fun for children aged 4-12. Outside, they can enjoy the play equipment and the zip wire located in Bluebell Field.
Places to visit: There are many places to visit in Cornwall, here are some of our favourites:
The Lost Gardens of Heligan: Located near Mevagissey, these gardens cover 200 acres with magical gardens and woodland walks to discover. Uncovered in 1990, these gardens became Europe’s biggest garden restoration project after being covered by brambles since WW1.
Mevagissey: A traditional Cornish fishing port and village with beautiful local shops selling their wares. Just 16 minutes from Meadow Lakes. Why not try the boat trip from Mevagissey to Fowey? This is a great boat trip across St Austell Bay. Enjoy the crystal blue waters and spot the dolphins by the side of the boat if you are lucky.
Cornwall Football Golf Park: is the No. 1 thing to do in St Austell for all the family. It is the biggest football golf course in the UK. Instead of using a golf ball and putter, use a football and navigate the obstacles.
Charleston Harbour: Take a step back in time to the picturesque harbour, the last working 18th-century Georgian harbour in the UK. See the tall ships and beautiful beaches. Famous for being a filming location, you will recognise recent productions like Poldark and the Three Musketeers.
St Austell Brewery: Book a trip around the historic brewery and see how their beer is made. There is an opportunity to sample their award-winning produce.
Bodmin: Just 41 minutes away from the park, Bodmin offers a wide expanse of granite moorland and is one of Cornwall’s Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty with plentiful historic features to find dating back to the Neolithic and Bronze Age times.
